CyberFreight distributes COVID-19 vaccines for Dutch healthcare organization Omring
CyberFreight distributed COVID-19 vaccines for the Dutch healthcare organization Omring. Omring started on January 29 with the vaccination of approximately 1000 residents of Omring and Vrijwaard at the residential care locations.
Healtcare organization Omring was looking for a qualified party for the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines. A party that complies with the strict guidelines set by the RIVM regarding the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
Distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines
On Friday January 29 at 7:00 am CyberFreight was present with 5 vehicles at the head office of Omring on the Nieuwe Steen in Hoorn for a briefing. All these special vehicles are validated in accordance with GDP guidelines and qualified for the transport of medicines and vaccines.
After the briefing and securing of the cargo, each vehicle received a route with 5 to 6 locations from Omring spread across Dutch regions West-Friesland and the head of Noord-Holland. Each vehicle was attended by 2 security guards.
Temperature
The temperature requirements for this specific transport is 2-8 degrees Celsius with a set point of 5+ degrees Celsius.
On site, the vehicles temperature data was shared with the site coordinator to ensure that the cold chain was not interrupted. After everyone who qualified for vaccination had been vaccinated, the vehicle was allowed to leave for the next location.
All vaccines had been delivered to their destination by 6:00 PM.
Omring
“Since corona has taken a hold of us, this is a day we were looking forward to,” says Frido Kraanen, director at Omring. “From today we can better protect our residents and with that we are really starting to stop the harmful effects of the virus”.
Omring has been looking forward to this day. The start of the vaccination is therefore a nice milestone in the corona crisis, which was celebrated with cake.
